Angelica

Blue Hope

How foolish she was to underestimate the power of the stone!

Looking back, she knew that from the moment all this started, she will not have a single moment to breath. Everything must be done to find the stone again.

Her life depended on it.

Their lives depended on it.

Keeping honour and love was a mistake she had to live with and not to make again. The most destructive forces of nature could not compete with the disasters that these engendered. She looked in the mirror to find validation and support, for she knew the mirror will show the monster she had become and confirm there will be no more weakness.

Yet, the reflection was not the beast, and, instead, the mirror spat at her the image of a long lost youth, with flowers in her blonde locks and the innocence of a smile. The beauty she was looking at had nothing else but hope for the future, and Angelica could not help but mourn the loss of the fearlessness that burned inside her. She reached out slowly, her eyes fogged by haunting memories, and touched the hand that was being given to her.

If only, for a single moment, she could exchange places and relive herself. She longed for the lost sense of adventure that kept her on her toes and the lightness of her strong heart. She wanted to know love for herself again and find the confidence to fight for everything… for anything…

Suddenly, the pieces of the mirror were blasted all over the small cabin. Confused, Angelica was trying to understand what happened, when she realised it was she who broke it to bits. If she was to become strong, she had to stop feeling regret at not being who she once was. That girl did not exist anymore and that girl had no power. Why would she want to go back when she could tear anyone who stood in her way to pieces?

“Back to business” she whispered to herself and took out the map of the isles to study.

The way was somewhere in there and she will find it. No matter the cost, she will pay and all this will be final.
